compassion. To see the courage, strength, faith, and determination that
he possessed served as a catalyst as to how we as a people should live
and appreciate everything we have in life. My sincere condolences goes
out to his family and know that I will not cease to make mention of you
Mrs. Annette in my time of prayer. The love that you demonstrated to and
for you son in his time of need is an epitome of what a mother's love
is all about. May the Lord Bless You and Keep You!!" - Henry

"I read this entire website after a coworker of mine shared the story with many of us here in Overland Park, Kansas. Wow. What an enthusiastic, positive, and beautiful human being Rasul "Rocky" Clark was. I am an insurance sales agent and do not agree with many of the things and rules that insurance has and my heart goes out to the family and everyone else who helped in Rocky's situation. Those close to him and those, like myself, who only knew about him through word of mouth. I plan to follow the legislation for Rocky and tell my friends and family about this remarkable young man. His dream and the meaning touched me. I believe, even though this was the end of his life, that he will live on and the people working to make this happen will succeed in helping other people in this situation in a powerful and positive way. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I thank you for sharing this with the public. "
"Thank you for reminding me that life is a gift." With love from Knoxville, TN.

"Rocky, I can't put into words what our time together meant to me. Our talks, our jokes, our poems...even the quiet time when we were both on the phone, but neither wanted to hang up *smile*. When I heard of your passing, it felt like I had been hit in the chest with a sledge-hammer, however, after hearing from your sister how you'd smile when we talked, I have a certain warmth to me now, that makes me feel like you're "O.K.". I will miss your laugh, hearing the smile in your voice, your singing (or at least trying, LOL), and our talks. I am missing you more than you'll ever know, but loving you even more. Rest Well, "Pooh". You've made it."~Nia
"What lucky people you are to have had Rocky as a part of your life, and I, too, to have learned of him just this morning by accident. I live in Florida, but happened to be watching WGN News at 1:00 (my time) when I saw Rocky's story. He was a beautiful person, and I will do what I can financially in his honor. I know you will keep the faith as God has his reasons for everything. You are all an inspiration to the rest of us. Your lack of bitterness and positive attitude put me to shame when I wimper and gripe over ridiculous problems. I wish I could've known Angel Rocky in person. My blessings to you all." - Kathleen
"I am a volunteer for Gridiron Heroes from Houston, Texas. I just wanted to let you all know that praying for Rocky's family and friends. I lost a great friend (Oneal Mitchell) Oct. 2010. Oneal was paralyzed at 15 yrs old and passed at age 21. I ran with a group last year to raise money for Gridiron Heroes at the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Antonio, Tx. There was another young man (David Edwards) who passed in 2008. I dedicated my run to them and had a shirt made. This year I will make sure that I honor Rocky also. These are amazing young men who inspire me. I wish I could have met Rocky because I gain so much from these young men. You all take care and take care of each other! RIP My Brother!!! " - Preston

"To the Clark family, You have my love and prayers. Rocky inspired me. I just couldn't stop crying when I first saw him talking with such much love in his heart for God. I was amazed that he was so positive. He still had his joy!!!! I could see he knew how to encourage himself. Then when I learned he had passed, all I could say was "He is here no more.". Rest on Rocky. Rest on young man. Thank you for your gift to the world. True physical embodiment of what HOPE really looks like. We will always remember you Rocky." Always. - Barb
"I have followed Rocky's story for many years and I was truly saddened to learn of his passing. Even as I write this message I can't hold back the tears that I shed for a young man that had so much strength, character, determination, and will to wake up every morning fighting to live. He truly lived life to the fullest and he set a great example, not just for youth, but for any individual who is faced with adversity. He showed me that you must tackle whatever is thrown in front of you head on and not to throw pity parties. And most importantly to smile. Rocky's smile was infectious. You could not help but smile whenever you saw him because he was always smiling even though he was the one to endure so much pain. He still managed to give comfort to all who knew him, those who followed his story, and complete strangers, by continuing to smile. I guess that is why I always hoped and believed things would get better for Rocky. In a way things did get better because Rocky has brought public awareness to his story. And in turn there will be mini Rocky Clark's that will help carry on his legacy. My thoughts and prayers are with his mother and his family. May he rest in peace." - Marty
