After suffering a serious football related injury in 2000 leaving him paralyzed at the age of 16, Rocky spent the remainder of his years exhibiting incredible strength of will, perseverance, and concern for others. As a young boy from Robbins, Illinois, Rocky was well liked by all because of his athleticism, optimistic outlook on life and leadership abilities. In addition to being a successful athlete in football and other sports, Rocky earned the respect of his peers, coaches and friends alike. It wasn't until during one of Rocky's High School Football games that tragedy struck, leaving him with a devastating spinal cord injury resulting in his becoming a quadriplegic.
Although the injury significantly affected the direction of Rocky's life, it did nothing to diminish his spirit.
Rocky became a model of resilience, fighting against incredible physical obstacles while continuing to help others. His optimism, sense of humor and unyielding resolve have provided inspiration to those around him.
